And what\u2019s the difference?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>VETTA Bike Components<\/strong>, we tested both types of rotors for over half a year\u2014on DH tracks, slow steep trails, and fast enduro sections. Its patented wave design improves heat dissipation, reduces vibrations, and keeps weight low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How it performs in real riding:<\/strong><br>Wave rotors shine on slow, steep trails with limited airflow. In these conditions, they cool even better than Shark rotors and offer consistent braking power from top to bottom.<br>On faster trails, the Wave still holds its own. Its signature \u201cshark fin\u201d slots boost airflow and thermal stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our impressions from the trails:<\/strong><br>The Shark rotor needs speed to show its true potential. On fast DH runs and long enduro descents, it feels <strong>powerful, stable, and quiet<\/strong>.<br>On slower sections, it doesn\u2019t cool as efficiently as the Wave and can overheat if airflow is lacking.<br>Compared to the Wave, the Shark has <strong>virtually no lever vibration<\/strong>, <strong>stronger bite<\/strong>, and <strong>quieter braking<\/strong>. We also noticed <strong>less pad wear<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udca1 Shark is not a basic replacement rotor\u2014it\u2019s an <strong>upgrade<\/strong>, built for riders who demand the very best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our Verdict:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you ride <strong>fast trails, long alpine descents, or frequent bike parks<\/strong>, go for the <strong>Galfer Shark<\/strong>. It offers more stiffness, better cooling at speed, and the <strong>highest braking power<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you mostly ride <strong>slower, tighter trails<\/strong> with less speed and airflow, the <strong>Galfer Wave<\/strong> is the better choice. It\u2019s lighter, more responsive at low speed\u2014and <strong>half the price<\/strong> of the Shark.
