The Ripley AF V2 is insanely good at practically everything – perfect both for experienced trail smashers and enthusiastic newcomers. The latest aluminum version keeps that fast, playful feel that made the Ripley famous and packs it into a durable metal frame, ready for whatever the trail throws at you.
With 130 mm of rear and 140 mm of front travel, it climbs surprisingly efficiently and descends far above its “travel” class. Progressive, confident geometry gives it quick, responsive handling in tight corners while staying stable as speed increases. If you value agility, capability, and pure fun, the Ripley AF will quickly win you over.
Just like the carbon Ripley, it uses dw-link suspension, comes stock with 29-inch wheels front and rear, and the flip chip lets you switch to a 27.5-inch rear wheel if you prefer a mullet configuration. Inside the downtube is an internal storage compartment with two included Ibis bags for tools, snacks, and essentials – less weight on your back, more energy for riding.
Every rider deserves the same balanced feel on the bike, which is why we use size-specific seat tube angles and suspension kinematics. Chainstay length and bottom bracket height are also tailored to each size, keeping weight distribution and handling dialed from the smallest to the largest frame.
It is available in five sizes – S, M, XM (Extra-Medium), L, and XL. The XM fills the gap in the middle of the range: about 80% of riders are between ~165 and ~183 cm (5’5”–6’0”), and for them, this size is spot on. If you’ve always been solidly a L or XL, your choice remains unchanged.
The flip chip allows you to ride 29″/29″ or MX (29″ front / 27.5″ rear) on all sizes without disrupting the purposefully designed geometry. The Ripley AF ships as a full 29er; mullet is a ready option.
DW-Link remains the heart of the bike – efficient pedaling on climbs, calmness and traction on descents, and a feel that sets the standard for modern trail bikes. Size-specific kinematics ensure that every size pedals brilliantly and stays smooth on demanding trails.
The internal storage compartment in the downtube frees up your backpack: the latch works reliably even in cold and mud and with gloves. The door is waterproof, quiet, and durable. Two internal Ibis bags are included, made from tough, waterproof materials with a bright lining so you can quickly find what you need.
