Ripmo AF V2 elevates the legendary performance of the Ripmo into an even more robust, affordable aluminum package – with 160 mm of front and 150 mm of rear travel, efficient DW-Link suspension and a flip chip system that allows riding with 29-inch or mixed (MX: 29″/27.5″) wheel setup in all sizes. It is built for steep descents, rough terrain and climbs where it rides better than you would expect. It holds speed and composure even when pushed hard past the limit and delivers the same legendary riding experience as the carbon Ripmo – only in a more accessible, extremely durable aluminum version.
The frame is available in five sizes – S, M, XM (Extra-Medium), L and XL – with size-specific seat tube angles and suspension kinematics so that all riders have a similar sense of balance regardless of height or proportions. Approximately 80% of riders measure between about 165 and 183 cm (5’5”–6’0”), which is why we added the XM size that fills the gap in the middle of the range; if you were previously reliably L or XL, your size remains unchanged. Chainstay length and bottom bracket height are also adapted to each size, which helps keep the center of gravity where it needs to be and ensures predictable handling.
With the new flip chip all sizes can easily switch between full 29er and MX configuration without disturbing the geometry. XM and larger frames come standard with 29-inch wheels, while sizes S and M come with MX setup; choose the one that suits you best.
DW-Link remains the heart of the rear suspension – efficient when pedaling, calm and anchored on aggressive descents. From the experience with the race-proven HD6 model we updated the Ripmo AF with a more progressive curve, shorter clevis and enough room for a coil, which makes the frame compatible with most coil shocks on the market. Size-specific kinematics ensure that every size pedals equally well and stays quiet on demanding trails.
In the downtube there is a large internal storage compartment that relieves the backpack. The latch works reliably even in mud and cold and with gloves. The door is waterproof, rattle-free and made for long use. Two internal bags are included for tools, snacks or anything essential; they are made of durable, waterproof materials with a bright lining so you can quickly find what you need.
