Instructions for Use
First, make sure you have the correct RRP bearing kit that matches the bearings you intend to install or remove (see the list below). You can identify the kit you need by reading the bearing number written on the rubber seal, or by measuring the inner and outer diameters of the bearing (as shown below) and comparing them to our list below
(note: the handles are shorter and thinner to reduce torque and thus the risk of damage due to misalignment/incorrect installation)
Bearing Removal (RED adapters) – SOLD SEPARATELY
Install the RED adapters from the RRP BEARING KIT as shown below, and ensure that all parts are aligned and level to prevent damage to the parts or frame. Specifically check that the female adapter is aligned with the frame to prevent frame damage.
Turn the main handle until all parts are assembled, and finally check that everything is properly aligned. Continue turning the main handle, which will allow the male adapter to pull the inner ring of the bearing and draw it into the female adapter (note: the male adapter passes through the female adapter to ensure even and proper extraction*); as the bearing begins to be drawn out, it will become harder to turn. After a few turns, stop and check that the bearing is extracting properly before continuing.
Installing Bearings (BLUE Adapters) – SOLD SEPARATELY
Install the BLUE adapters from the RRP BEARING KIT as shown below, ensuring all parts are aligned and properly fitted to prevent damage to the parts or frame.
Turn the main handle until all parts are assembled, and the male adapter should be pressing against the outer ring of the bearing you are installing. Perform a final check to ensure everything is aligned. Continue turning the main handle; the male adapter will press against the outer ring of the bearing and insert it (note: the male adapter passes through the female adapter to ensure even and proper insertion*). As the bearing begins to seat, it will become harder to turn. After a few turns, stop and check that the bearing is inserting correctly before continuing.
The most important thing is that the outer and inner dimensions match the table below. There are dozens of different bearing names with the same dimensions, so it’s not that important for the name to match exactly.
