The Ripley SL is manufactured in northern California, at Ibis’s in-house production facility. This manufacturing process allows for complete control over quality, stiffness, strength, and frame weight. The result is an exceptionally lightweight, precision-engineered carbon frame designed for a fast, efficient, and responsive ride.
Ibis does not use the same geometry for all sizes on the Ripley SL model. Each frame size features a customized seat tube angle, suspension kinematics, chainstay length, and bottom bracket height. This ensures the bike maintains a balanced ride feel across all sizes, regardless of the rider’s height or proportions.
The Ripley SL is available in five sizes: S, M, XM, L, and XL. The XM size has been added as an intermediate size between M and L, as it allows for a more precise frame selection for a wide range of riders. This makes it easier to find the right size and achieve an optimal riding position.
The Ibis STOW system allows you to store essential gear directly inside the frame. The access door is easy to use even in cold, muddy conditions or while wearing gloves. The system is waterproof, quiet while riding, and robustly built. The frame comes with two dedicated internal pouches for tools, snacks, a spare inner tube, or other small items you’ll want to keep with you at all times.
The Ripley SL features thoughtful routing of the derailleur and brake lines through the rear triangle. This gives the bike a clean look and makes servicing easier, as the rear triangle can be removed without disconnecting the brake line.
The bike uses the proven dw-link suspension system, which is known for its excellent climbing efficiency and reliable control on descents. The Ripley SL transfers power to the pedals very effectively while remaining smooth, comfortable, and stable on more challenging terrain. The suspension kinematics are tailored to each frame size, so the bike maintains the same ride feel across all sizes.
The frame accommodates tires up to 2.4” wide. This means you can choose lighter, faster tires for XC riding or more robust trail tires for better traction and confidence on more challenging trails.
Sizes M, XM, L, and XL have space for two water bottles in the front triangle, while size S accommodates one larger water bottle. This is very practical for longer tours, marathons, and rides where you want to carry as little gear on your back as possible.
Ibis offers a lifetime warranty on the frame. If a defect occurs that is the manufacturer’s responsibility, they will fix it easily and without unnecessary complications.
